NLMK Launches Advanced Medical Centre for Employees
NLMK Lipetsk has commissioned a Health Centre for its employees, offering the full range of medical care: from tests and diagnostics that are run on cutting-edge equipment to treatment by a variety of doctors, including specialists in 35 areas. The clinic offers surgeries, rehabilitation and outpatient treatment. It is equipped with world-class facilities for MRI, CT, mammography, endoscopy and ultrasonic examinations. The total project investment exceeded 4 billion roubles.
NLMK employees have access to procedures that not widely available in the city of Lipetsk. For example, lithotriptor treatments, a non-invasive procedure to break up kidney stones, which is especially relevant for regions with hard drinking water. Mobile laparoscopic and arthroscopic devices enable minimally invasive and highly accurate surgical interventions. The departments of paediatrics and surgery, including a day hospital, as well as the prevention department, which offers water and mud therapy, kinesiotherapy and other modern methods, operate in synergy to deliver a wholistic approach to health.
The Health Centre is an important part of NLMK’s comprehensive system of care for the health and wellbeing of its employees. The system comprises voluntary health insurance, health resort treatments and family vacations, corporate sports programmes, as well as professional specialist support, including legal advice and psychological assistance.
“Our goal is to help employees in all significant life situations: from healthcare and family care to comfortable workplace conditions. For example, at the new Health Centre it is possible to get a prompt appointment with doctors in rare specialties. This alleviates some routine daily worries for the employees enabling them to focus on their tasks and professional growth,” explains Mikhail Arkhipov, NLMK Group Vice President for Human Resources Policy, Education and Social Infrastructure.
In parallel, the Company invests in improving workplace conditions: automation and digital solutions make processes more streamlined and convenient. For instance, crane operators can now control lifting equipment remotely and work from modern control rooms instead of the shopfloor. Steel caster operators also manage the process from a comfortable room and not through manual controls next to the equipment. Their work is facilitated by electronic advisor systems and a ramified video surveillance network. These changes are taking place throughout the Company and have already been deployed to 20 shops, reaching about 800 employees.
This helps secure NLMK’s high scores in employer ratings based on surveys of both current and former employees. In 2025, the Company received the Platinum status from Forbes for the third time, ranked in the leading tier of the RBC ranking and among the top-3 employers in Russia according to the HeadHunter ranking of industrial companies. Experts note a strong corporate culture and a well-developed system of employee support — the factors that promote conditions conducive to professional growth and self-realization.
