The advanced environmental technologies that NLMK Group employs have made it one of the industry leaders when it comes to efficient water consumption and minimal negative impact on the water bodies of its home regions.
NLMK companies only withdraw a small proportion of their water from external sources (less than 4% of the Group’s total water consumption). Maintaining the same low level of fresh water intake as production volumes grow is an important objective for NLMK Group. For industrial water supplies, NLMK Group companies use water from surface water bodies, underground sources, and rainfall.
