2021 NLMK Group employees won the Talented Woman in the Extractive Industry award

Six employees of NLMK Group won the Talented Woman in the Extractive Industry award, organized by the Women in Mining international organization. The jury awarded professional women who achieved high results.

Anna Korotchenkova, Research and Development Director, NLMK Group, won in the Inspirational Leader category
Tatiana Kotareva, Lead Geologist, Stoilensky, won in the Mentor of the Year category
Ekaterina Pogoreltseva, Chief Hydrogeologist, Stoilensky, won in the Breakthrough of the Year category
Irina Kanaeva, Personnel Training and Development Manager, Altai-Koks, and Maria Trukhacheva, Lead Design Engineer, NLMK Repair Department, won in the Social Project of the Year category
Margarita Gerasimova, Chemical Engineer, NLMK, was short-listed in the Innovator of the Year category.

The award was established by the Russian branch of the Women in Mining international organization with the support of industrial companies. The applicants for the award included 237 professionals from 24 companies and 96 cities of Russia.

2021 NLMK Group is among the best employers in Russia according to Forbes

NLMK Group, a global steel company, has received the «golden» status in the Best Employers in Russia ranking according to Forbes and KPMG. In 2021, the compilers of the rating moved away from the classical practices of HR awards and evaluated companies primarily by ESG indicators, which included Environmental Performance, Corporate Governance and Employees and Communities. NLMK Group received the highest ratings (platinum) in the first two categories, with the cumulative Golden status.

Winner of Russia’s Best Social Projects prize

The Steel Tree grant competition of the Miloserdiye Charitable Fund, NLMK Group’s social partner, won the Best Social Projects in Russia award.

Steel Tree is a grant competition whose main objective is to implement the ideas of active citizens wishing to create a comfortable living environment and improve quality of life. In 2020, the Steel Tree competition received 189 applications, which is a record high. 62 participants received grants for the implementation of their projects.

First prize at the People Investor competition for corporate projects

On 2 December, at the People Investor 2020: ESG for All forum, NLMK Group’s Healthy Choice project won in the Healthy Lifestyle nomination. During the forum, nominees for the PEOPLEINVESTOR prize presented their best practices in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. Traditionally, the forum brings together leading top managers of Russian and international companies from various sectors, representatives of the authorities, and the expert community.

Best Eco Volunteer team

A team of Lipetsk volunteers led by NLMK employee Maria Trukhacheva won the Best Eco Volunteer Team national competition in the Eco Youth category. For two years the activists participated in the Ecopatrol project to clean up the banks of the Voronezh River from garbage. The volunteering initiative was supported by the Steel Tree grant programme, which is organized jointly with NLMK’s social partner, the Miloserdiye Charitable Fund.
