NLMK Group, an international steel company, set a record in steel product export transshipments in June. NLMK shipped 1.2 m t of steel, which is 65% higher than the average monthly export volume and 0.3 m t higher than the previous record set in December 2018. High shipment levels were enabled by the supply chain optimization programmes.
NLMK Group, an international steelmaking company, has completed a follow-up audit of its management systems in the areas of environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and energy efficiency. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the British Standards Institution (BSI) conducted the audit online.
NLMK Lipetsk, NLMK Group’s flagship production site, has completed the construction of a new on-site logistics centre as part of its customer focus programme, and shipped the first batch of products to customers by road. The centre will enable the shipment of more than 1 m t of NLMK’s rolled products per year by road and will become one of the largest logistics facilities in Russia.
NLMK Group Director of Environmental Affairs Nikita Vorobyev participated in the World Economic Forum session Materials Industry Transition: Building Forward at Speed and Scale. This online event was an opportunity for representatives from international steel, aluminum, chemical, and concrete companies to discuss pathways to achieve zero net greenhouse emissions by 2050.
NLMK Lipetsk, NLMK Group’s flagship site, and the French company Air Liquide, a leading industrial gas producer, have signed a package of agreements on expanding cooperation. According to the agreements, Air Liquide will construct a cutting-edge air separation unit (ASU) in Lipetsk and purchase assets for producing hydrogen and rare gas concentrates from NLMK.
